Crispy, savory and baked. These masitas de tofu really hit the nostalgia comfort food spot. Dressed with garlic mojo sauce and topped with fresh onions and parsley. A satisfying entree, party appetizer or snack, this classic is versatile and so easy to make.
Ingredients
Masitas De Tofu
- 14 oz firm tofu
- 2 tbsp of flour (or gluten-free flour)
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp oregano
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tbsp cumin
- 1/2 tbsp black pepper
Garlic Mojo Sauce
- 8 Garlic cloves
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- 2/3 cup of fresh lime juice
- 1/2 bunch of parsley
- Salt to taste.
Garnish
- 1/2 white onion
- 1/2 bunch of parsley

Prep the tofu
- Drain and cube 1 block of firm tofu.
- In a bowl, mix seasoning with 2 table spoons of any kind of flour. I used gluten-free.
- Coat tofu in flour/spice mix
- Lightly coat baking pan with avocado oil (I used a spray bottle). Place tofu on baking pan.
- Place in pre-heated oven at 425 degrees for 20 minutes. I used the convection setting in mine. You could also use an air fryer.
- Turn sides and continue cooking for 15 minutes.
Mojo sauce
- Mince garlic and parsley
- Place in bowl and whisk in lime and olive oil
- Season with salt

Garnish
- Slice onion into thin slivers
- Chop parsley
- Mix together

How to serve
This recipe is so so versatile! Serve it as an entree with cilantro lime rice and Cuban black beans. Spoon the garlic mojo over the masitas and use the onion parsley mix to add some freshness.
These little masitas of goodness also make the perfect party snack. Serve on a platter with the garlic mojo sauce in a dipping bowl.
